Use Zapier to automate your follow-up workflow and eliminate manual scheduling. In this guide, we’ll show you how to connect OVOU with Google Calendar so that every time someone shares their contact with you, a personal “Follow Up” event is added to your calendar.
It’s a simple way to stay organized and never miss a chance to reconnect.

In this example, we’ll create a private Google Calendar event titled “Follow Up with XX ” each time someone shares their contact with you via OVOU. This event is for your personal use. It won’t send anything to the contact. You can customize the title, timing, and content to match your workflow.
1. Log in to your OVOU account on desktop and click Menu.
3. Click Configure.
Note: If you're new to Zapier, you can sign up for the free plan.
Note: If the pop-up doesn’t appear, check your browser’s pop-up blocker settings.
7. Set the trigger event to New Contact (From Your Account) — this runs when someone exchanges contact details with your personal OVOU profile.
If you're a Team Admin, choose New Contact (From Your Team) to trigger the automation when someone exchanges contact details with any member of your team.
8. Click Continue.
9. Click Test Trigger.
10. Select a recent exchange contact from the list, then click Continue with selected record.
Tip: If no contacts appear, exchange details using sample info from your OVOU profile, then click Find new records. Fill out all fields for the most complete test data.
11. Choose Google Calendar as the action app and select Create Detailed Event.
Note: Choose the dropdown options that best fit your workflow and preferences.
12. Click Sign in to connect your Google Calendar account.
13. Log in and click Next to complete the connection.
14. Select your Google Calendar (required).
15. Under Summary, create a title for the event (optional).
Tip: To make your calendar more useful, map the Full Name field so the event clearly shows who it’s for.
16. In Description, add details like name, email, phone, or message to give yourself context when it's time to follow up.
17. Set both the Start and End Time using the Exchange Time field (required).
19. Click Test Step, then check your Google Calendar to ensure the event appears correctly.
20. If everything looks good, click Publish.
Your follow-up automation is now up and running! Each new OVOU contact exchange will instantly create a follow-up event in your calendar, helping you stay organized and build better connections. You can continue customizing this Zap or explore other ways to connect OVOU with your favourite tools.
